Who I am

I would like to take just a minute and tell you who I am and what I will be blogging about here at Jenny Marie Sparkles.

I am a dog mom to 3 furbabies. You can learn more about them and anything else to do with dogs on my blog dedicated to them and all dogs Wiggly Butts.

I work a full time job at an insurance office as well as part-time selling Paparazzi Accessories & Jewelry for only $5. I also am working at getting both of my blogs up and active. I am looking to eventually replacing my full time insurance job and work for myself.

On this blog I will concentrate on My Paparazzi Business as well as articles on building a social media presence.

I look forward to making new friends along this journey

Forget the Tired Old Neck Tie for Fathers Day

So often when it comes to jewelry we think of women. Why not pick out a nice Manly piece of jewelry this Father’s Day instead of that tired old neck tie. Give dad something to wear on the weekends or when he is not at work.

Check out these pieces for that father or father figure in your life.

Building Relationships with Direct Sales Buisness

Ok, Yesterday we talked about how to loose your friends and your social media presence with the old way of selling. Today we are going to look at a new way of looking at Direct Sales. You won’t feel like the used car salesperson who is trying to trick someone into buying something they don’t need. And your friends won’t run and hide when they see you coming.

Let’s look at the difference between Traditional Selling and Relationship Selling

Traditional Selling: Is based on a formula, Memorize these 10 steps to get an appointment, or the 40 ways to close, or know all the counters to peoples objections. These techniques can be helpful, but we tend to lose sight of the customer and focus on our end result.

Relationship Selling:  You take a few minutes to get to know your customer and their needs and then you match them with the product that is going to best suit their needs NOT yours. Both parties are happy and you have just gained a faithful customer who will be more likely to recommend you to their friends.

Now let’s look at how to put the Relationship Selling into practice

Focus on Customers Needs

When you focus on filling your customers needs and not your pocket, the more sales you will have. When a customer knows you care about what they need and they feel secure in making the correct decision. Not only will they buy from you right then, but will become loyal and return to you every time.

When you clearly define their needs, you also determine if they fit into your target audience. Even if they really do not need what you have, you can still build the relationship by being candid and referring them to a more suitable resource.  You never know when this good deed will return to you in  referral business.

Ask Open Ended Questions

One of the best ways to learn about your customers needs is to ask questions that require more than a yes or no answer. Use the traditional interview questions Who, What, When , where and how. This results in both parties exchanging information and expanding their knowledge about each other.

Listen More Than You Talk

Sometimes you can get a greater sale if you just shut up and listen, you may find a greater need than what you see on the surface. For me it maybe instead of selling one piece of jewelry they need jewelry for a whole wedding party in the near future.

So, instead of pushing that friend away because you bombard them daily with your product, get to know them a little better and learn if they really need your product. I have several friends who never wear jewelry they don’t like it. So I know to not push it with them, but because of this when they need a piece of jewelry as a gift they come to me because they know I will listen and not try to push jewelry on them.

I would love to hear how you are forming relationships with your clients. Please share in the comments below.

How To Loose All Your Friends With Your New Business

Each day more and more people are joining the direct sales band wagon, which is awesome, but at the same time their friends are thinking great more crap that is going to be crammed down my throat.

So often we think the best approach is the direct approach. Years ago in sales courses I would take the saying was “If you want a sale, you have to ask for it.” So why not use this approach on Facebook and Twitter? Because people aren’t on these social platforms to be sold to day in and day out. They are there to build relationships. So if you would like to loose all your friends and destroy your social presence follow these tips

  • Friend up to 1000 people a day and send them a link to your website in your initial message
  • Make every post post about your business making sure to attach a link to your website on everything you post
  • Send private messages daily to all your friends telling them you can help them make Thousands of dollars a day, don’t forget to share that link.
  • Send private messages begging all your friends to please help support your business
  • Talk about yourself all the time, never enquirer about them unless you are asking them to buy something or join your team.
  • Add your Facebook friends to every group and page you create without inviting them. Then post in those groups at least 100 times a day
  • Make sure you hijack other peoples post to tell about your product or opportunity
  • Send emails everyday about your business and all the daily deals and opportunities you have

If you would like to learn how to be successful and not loose all your friends check out my blog tomorrow about building your business on relationships

Don’t Cook Your Dog

It’s that time of year again, for my doggy PSA. Please don’t leave your dog in the hot car even for a minute. Because 1 minute can turn into to 10 or 15 minutes if we run into a friend or the line to check out is really slow.

On a 78 degree day the temperature inside a parked car can soar to between 100 and 120 degrees in just minutes. On a 90 degree day the temperature can soar to 140 degrees in less than 10 minutes

Dogs can sustain brain damage or suffer a heat stroke in just 15 minutes. They have a hard time cooling themselves down, because their only means of cooling down is by panting and sweating through their paw pads.

If you come across a dog left in the car, take down all the vehicle information. Car make, model, color and license plate number. Then have the owner paged in the nearest buildings. Also call the local authorities. If quicker action is needed, the dog is clearly in danger, then get several witness to also document the situation. Then remove the dog however possible. Immediately give the dog water and if you can pour water on it’s belly and paws to help cool them down. DO NOT LEAVE THE SCENE UNTIL THE SITUATION HAS BEEN RESOLVED!

Now, my guys love to go for a ride in the car, and I love taking them when I can. So here are some tips I follow for taking them with me during the hot months.

  1. Use the drive through for errands when available
  2. Bring a friend along who can play with them outside the car or stay with them in the car with it running with the air conditioner on
  3. Shop at do friendly stores where your dog can browse with you
  4. Eat at an outdoor cafe where your dog can join you.
  5. Leave your dog at home where is it cool and safe for them.

I would love to hear some of the fun activities you do with your dog during the hot summer months. Please leave them in the comments below.

How To Care For Fashion Jewelry

Trendy and cute jewelry is fun to own and is affordable to buy, but can be tricky to take care of. Just because it is affordable does not mean they will last forever nor will they be ultra sturdy. But I would still like it to look its best while it’s trendy. So here are a few tips to keep that Fashion Jewelry looking it’s best.

  1. Keep it clean: Don’t expose your jewelry to cleaning chemicals, lotions, perfumes or oils. Always remove your jewelry before applying any of these and allow them to completely dry before putting your jewelry back on.
  2. Give your fashion jewelry a BREAK: Most fashion jewelry isn’t intended to be worn on a daily basis. If you wear it too many days in a row you might notice discoloration. That’s the great thing about Paparazzi Jewelry at the $5 price point you can wear something different every day without breaking the bank and keeping your jewelry looking it’s best
  3. Clean it after wearing it: There is always the chance that soap, lotion or some other chemical got on your jewelry from your body. So before you put it away just wipe it down. Don’t ever put it away if it is wet.
  4. Don’t coat it: Some people swear by coating their fashion jewelry with Krylon and if it works for you, by all means do it. However, most jewelry care experts will warn against coating your pieces in any kind of finish as it can take off or changing the finish of your fashion jewelry. Some people like to use clear nail polish on certain pieces of fashion jewelry to prevent their skin from turning green. Experts say that this is usually due to a chemical reaction and keeping your jewelry clean and dry should help, but if you want a fast fix, you can always try clear polish.

I would love to hear any tips you may have for how you care for your Fashion Jewelry.

National Prairie Day & Jewelry

Today is Prairie day and after a little research I discovered even ladies on the prairie liked to feel pretty and wore jewelry.

They often wore bracelets as a matched set like earrings

They also wore earrings and a matching pin at the collar of their dresses. They were usually a cameo set.

Most of them only wore a wedding band and no other form of ring.

I am so glad today we aren’t limited to just a few pieces of jewelry, but one thing we have in common with our ancestors from the prairie. We do like our jewelry to match.
